We lived in a small town. We were in our early thirties, and our marriage seemed perfect: a cozy home, plans for the future, mutual friends. But behind this facade of harmony there was an emptiness that became more noticeable with each passing year.
I was busy with my career at a local construction company, staying late at work often and leaving my wife Anna alone. She worked as a literature teacher, loved to read novels. I understand now that she was looking for there what she lacked in real life.
Anna was a noticeable and beautiful woman. Tall, with long brown hair and expressive green eyes. She radiated attractive energy. All her colleagues and students adored her. But at home there are only silence and rare conversations awaited her. I didn`t realize myself that I was increasingly looking at my phone, but not at my wife.
